More than two dozen big names — many from beyond the country music realm — are now set to appear on CMT’s next big TV special.
The network has shared the final lineup for “CMT Celebrates Our Heroes: An Artists of the Year Special,” airing June 3. Among the new additions are film stars Scarlett Johansson, Sean Penn, Gary Sinise and Olivia Munn.
They’re joined by Blake Shelton, Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Lee Brice, Reba McEntire and Zac Brown, plus on-air personalities Bobby Bones and Cody Alan.
“Heroes” is a retooled version of CMT’s annual “Artists of the Year” special, now a salute to health care workers and others on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will highlight heroes in health care, education, business, community leaders, the food industry, infrastructure, first responders and the U.S. military.
Previously announced performers include Brandi Carlile, Brothers Osborne, Darius Rucker, Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt, Tim McGraw and Thomas Rhett, as well as “cameos” from Carrie Underwood, Kristen Bell and Lauren Daigle.
“CMT Celebrates Our Heroes: An Artists of the Year Special” premieres at 7 p.m. CT Wednesday, June 3, on CMT, and it will be simultaneously broadcast on Paramount Network, Pop TV and TV Land.
